Phil Steele names five Bulldogs to annual all-MW postseason teams

CLEVELAND – Phil Steele, nationally known as one of the best football analyst in the country, announced on Monday his end-of-season All-Mountain West teams. The linebacker duo of Justin Rice and Mykal Walker headlined the selections for Fresno State as first-team picks.

The Bulldogs had five total honorees. Running back Ronnie Rivers was a second-team choice by Steele while defensive lineman Kevin Atkins and long snapper Jacob Westberry were third-team selections.

Steele's Bulldog selections for first and second team matched the All-Mountain West picks, announced by the league on Dec. 4. The conference does not have a third-team, although Atkins was listed as an honorable mention choice earlier this month.

Four of the five Phil Steele all-conference selections – Atkins, Rice, Rivers & Westberry – return as seniors to the 2020 squad under first-year head coach Kalen DeBoer.
