2/23/2019 10:15:00 PM | Women's Tennis
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Fresno State women's tennis team concluded play in the 71st Annual Blue Gray National Tennis Classic on Saturday, coming up short against No. 37 Auburn, 4-1, and getting edged by Yale, 4-2, at Lagoon Park. The Bulldogs are now 3-5 on the season.
Â
"It was a tough weekend overall result wise, however, we will continue to grow from this experience," said coach Ric Mortera. "I'm happy for Jen (Timotin) to beat a very good player from Auburn. She should gain a lot of confidence from that win."
Â

Doubles
The Tigers got things rolling in doubles as Sophia Graver and Taylor Russo claimed the first point over the Bulldog tandem of Timotin and Georgia Lawson with a 6-2 win on court one. Yu Chen and Alannah Griffin then clinched the point for Auburn with a 6-3 win over the Fresno State pair of freshman, A.C. Hummel and Shir Azran, on court three.
