Three Bulldogs named UEC Riders of the Week

The last chance to catch the Bulldogs at home this season is on March 30 as they host UC Davis and honor 10 seniors prior to competition.
WACO, Texas - The No. 9 Fresno State equestrian team earned a trio of weekly honors from the United Equestrian Conference after last weekend's competition at No. 5 Oklahoma State, the organization announced on Monday.

The Bulldogs have picked up 13 total UEC weekly awards this season.

Fresno State swept the Western awards as sophomore Alexis Miller and freshman Lexee Padrick were honored. Senior Alexandra Dirickson earned the award in the Flat.

For the first time in her collegiate career, Miller was honored as Co-Horsemanship Rider of the Week. Miller posted a 73.5-72.5 in Stillwater on Saturday to earn her second Horsemanship point of the season.

Padrick was named the UEC Reining Rider of the Week after edging her opponent, 67.5-66.5. The freshman earned the only point in the event for the Bulldogs as they faced the No. 2 Reining squad in the country. This is the first conference recognition for the freshman.

Dirickson was named Co-Equitation on the Flat Rider of the Week for the second time this season with an outstanding 81-67 ride. The senior's 14-point margin of victory was the most in any event on the day and was enough to earn her the MOP honor in the event. Dirickson has had a break through senior season, leading the Bulldogs with a 6-4 record and three MOPs in the Flat. Additionally, Dirickson has posted a 6-5 record in Equitation Over Fences to lead the hunt seat discipline in both events

Fresno State travels to Martin, Tenn. for the United Equestrian Conference Championships on March 21-23. The last chance to catch the Bulldogs at home this season is on March 30 as they host UC Davis and honor 10 seniors prior to competition. Riding is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. PT and the Senior Day ceremony will begin just before. Parking and admission to the Student Horse Center is always free of charge.
