'Dogs rally for 4-3 win over Northern Arizona

FRESNO, Calif. -- Trailing 3-2, Fresno State secured the final two matches against Northern Arizona on Friday evening to defeat the Lumberjacks 4-3 at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.

DOUBLES
The Bulldogs took the early advantage in the dual, breezing through their matches with three decisive victories.

SINGLES
The dual went back and forth as the teams traded wins. NAU tied the dual with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 2 from Hanneke Lodewijks but the Bulldogs responded at No. 4 as Shir Azran picked up a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Northern Arizona would then pull within a point of the dual win, claiming a straight-set match on Court 3 from Ellie Millard and a three-set match from Chiara Tomasetti on Court 1.

Georgia Lawson then leveled the dual with a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 6 over Madi Moore.

With the dual match hanging in the balance, A.C. Hummel rallied back after dropping her opening set 3-6. The freshman tied her match at one set apiece with a 6-2 win in the second set. Hummel closed out the win with a 6-1 final set to hand the Bulldogs the victory.

Up Next
Fresno State will be off for the next two weeks before returning to action in San Diego. The 'Dogs will face the Aztecs on March 29 at 2 p.m. PT.
