QUICK LOOK AT THE BULLDOGS
Fresno State is 4-7 this season, with wins over UT-Martin, then-No. 4 Baylor, Delaware State and UC Davis.
Â
The Bulldogs have had many leaders step up this season despite having such a young team. On the western side, Fresno State is led by redshirt sophomore Nicole Campbell who has worked up a 7-4 record and has taken home four Most Outstanding Performer honors.
Â
Campbell was named UEC Rider of the Month for her outings in the month of February. She has earned three monthly conference honors in her first year as a Bulldog.
Â
On the hunt seat side, senior Alexandra Dirickson leads the way in both Equitation on the Flat and Equitation Over Fences. Dirickson has earned a 6-4 mark with three MOPs in the Flat and leads the team with a 6-5 record and one MOP in the Fences.
Â
The National Collegiate Equestrian Association released its latest set of event rankings on Tuesday. Horsemanship leads the way at No. 5, while Reining and Equitation on the Flat check in at No. 10 and Equitation Over Fences comes in at No. 11.
Â
SCOUTING THE HORNETS
Delaware State is 3-8 on the season. After a decent fall outing, the Hornets have been unable to defeat their opponents this spring, with just one win in the second half of the season over South Dakota State.
Â
This year, the 'Dogs and Hornets have split outings. Delaware State defeated Fresno State in their first meeting in the Willis Invitational, 9-6. The Bulldogs defeated the Hornets on their trip to Fresno on Feb. 2, 13-9.
