Equestrian student-athletes earn UEC All-Academic honors

WACO, Texas - The No. 9 Fresno State equestrian team had several student-athletes represented in the United Equestrian Conference Academic honors, the organization announced on Wednesday.

Junior western rider Paige Barton was named an All-UEC Academic First Team selection. First Team candidates must have competed in a minimum of 70 percent of their schools meets, not including demo or exhibition rides, while also earning a cumulative GPA of 3.5 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively.

Junior hunt seat rider Erica Rosinski was named a Second Team selection. In order to be considered for second team, the student-athlete must have competed in a minimum of 60 percent of their schools meets, not including demo or exhibition rides, and earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters, respectively.

Senior Kara Gustafson, juniors Shea Gilson and Brooke Nelson and sophomore Alexis Miller earned Honorable Mention. Honorable Mention candidates must have competed in a minimum of 50 percent of their schools meets, not including demo or exhibition rides, and earned a cumulative GPA of 3.00 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous Spring and Fall semesters respectively.

Seniors Katie Altenhofel, Alexa Bell, Alannah Lones and Dani Schneider, juniors Barton, Julia Kelly and Rosinski, and sophomore Annemarie Morias earned Honor Roll recognitions.
