Utti named Mountain West Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State's Maddi Utti was named Mountain West women's basketball player of the week, the conference office announced Monday morning. This is the first weekly honor of the sophomore's career.

Last week, the Seaside, Oregon native scored a career-high 26 points on 10-of-11 shooting. The 90.9 field-goal percentage was the highest single-game shooting percentage for a player this season with at least 10 attempts in the Mountain West.

The sophomore scored 12 of her points in the fourth quarter, including 10 in the final four minutes of the game as Fresno State outscored Wyoming 17-10. The 66-64 win snapped Wyoming's nine-game winning streak, the longest in league play this season.Â

Utti also swiped a career-high six steals, the fourth-most in a Mountain West game this season. She also blocked four shots, the second-most in a game in her career.
