- Fresno State went 6-0 in the Fresno State Invitational last week and has won seven consecutive games overall, the team's second winning streak this season that has gone seven or more games.
- Over the last seven games the 'Dogs are hitting .397 with a 1.52 team ERA while averaging 7.4 runs per game. Fresno State had two run-rule wins last week and scored a season-high 14 runs vs. USD.
- Rachel Minogue is the second toughest player to strike out in NCAA Div. I, having struck out just one time in 100 official at-bats this season. She also ranks third in the MW hitting .410 this year.
- Hailey Dolcini was named MW Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season after going 3-0 with a save and a 0.84 ERA last week. The 'Dogs lead the MW with three such honors this year.
- The reigning MW Pitcher and Hitter of the Week will meet this week as UNLV sophomore Mia Trejo was named Hitter of the Week on Tuesday after she led the Rebels to a sweep at San Diego State.
- UNLV is receiving votes in both national polls this week and is 14-2 at home this season. The Rebels lead the MW in ERA (1.94), hits (280), stolen bases (43), fielding percentage (.978), and runs allowed.
- The Rebels, picked 4th in the MW poll, are receiving votes in both national polls this week.
- UNLV swept San Diego State on the road last week, winning the finale 4-3 in 17 innings. The Rebels won two of three vs. Boise State and split at Utah State with the last game rained out.
- The Rebels have four wins this season against teams that were ranked at the time of meeting (two vs. Boise State and two vs. Stanford) and have lost consecutive games just once this year.
- UNLV leads the MW and is fifth in Div. I in fielding percentage (.978) and also leads the league in ERA (1.94), hits (280), stolen bases (43), and fewest runs (69) and walks (60) allowed.
- Lauren Tycksen leads the MW in hits (45) and Breana Burke leads the league in ERA (1.53). Jenny Bressler has a 1.68 ERA and leads the MW and is tied for 13th in Div. I with 15 victories.
- Fresno State is 58-18 all-time vs. UNLV but the Rebels earned a sweep in Fresno last season.
- The Bulldogs went 6-0 last week in the Fresno State Invitational, outscoring its opposition 48-9 while averaging eight runs per game with a season-high 14 runs in five innings in the first game vs. San Diego.
- Fresno State hit .420 with 17 extra-base hits in the tournament, posting a .521 team on-base percentage while also stealing nine bases and earning two run-rule wins.
- The pitching staff combined for a 1.44 ERA with three shutouts, allowing just eight earned runs and striking out 33 batters over 39.0 innings pitched.
- Rachel Minogue is the second toughest player to strike out in NCAA Div. I, having struck out just one time in 100 official at-bats this season.
- Only one player in the nation, Texas sophomore Janae Jefferson, has more at-bats than Minogue with one strikeout, as she has just one K in 118 at-bats entering the week. No qualified Div. I hitter has zero strikeouts.
- Minogue's only strikeout this year came at No. 1 UCLA in Megan Faraimo's 5-inning no-hitter. She has just one strikeout in 114 total plate appearances this year after striking out just six times all last year.
- Minogue also ranks third in the MW with a .410 season batting average, having hit .474 over the last 21 games.
- Fresno State has won seven consecutive games overall, its second winning streak this season of seven or more games.
- In the last seven games the Bulldogs are hitting .397 with a 1.52 team ERA while averaging 7.4 runs per game.
- The Bulldogs had an eight-game winning streak earlier this season leading up to the start of conference play.Â
- Hailey Dolcini was named MW Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday after going 3-0 with a save with a 0.84 ERA and 19 strikeouts over 16.2 innings pitched in four games.
- She earned her second MW Pitcher of the Week honor this season after also receiving it following her first week as a Bulldog at the Hawaii Paradise Classic.
- In 13 starts this season the sophomore transfer is 10-2 with a 1.26 ERA and .206 opposing batting average. Fresno State has won 11 of Dolcini's first 13 starts as a Bulldog and she has allowed two earned runs or fewer in 12 of her 13 starts with five shutouts.
- Fresno State is 19-0 this season when scoring first (19 of 22 total wins).
- The 'Dogs are 10-0 when leading after the first inning, 17-0 when leading after the second inning, and 18-0 when leading after the fifth inning.
- The Bulldogs have just two losses this season in games in which they held a lead.Â
- Senior Jade Nua made her first start as a Bulldog against North Dakota on March 8 and hasn't left the starting lineup since. She has started each of the last 18 games with a hit in 16 and has reached base in a team season-high 20 consecutive games overall.
- Over the last 20 games Nua is hitting .426 with two home runs, 11 RBIs, and 12 runs with a .563 on-base percentage.
- Nua now leads the MW and ranks 19th in NCAA Div. I with a .545 season on-base percentage and she also leads the league with nine hit-by-pitches.
- Fresno State went 15-2 this year against teams from "west" non-conference leagues - Big West, West Coast Conference (WCC), and Western Athletic Conference (WAC).
- The 'Dogs went a perfect 7-0 against WCC teams, earning five wins against those conference members last week.
- The Bulldogs were also 6-1 against Big West teams and 2-1 against the WAC.Â
- Fresno State has just four pitchers on its roster and one is redshirting, but the other three have all made big contributions this season and have combined for a MW-leading three Pitcher of the Week awards this year.
- Sophomore transfer Hailey Dolcini has led the staff in her first season as a Bulldog, posting a 10-4 record and 2.16 ERA overall while ranking third in the MW with 80 strikeouts. As a starter she is 10-2 with a 1.26 ERA this year and the team has won 11 of her 13 starts.
- Sophomore Danielle East, who was an All-MW selection last season, has four wins and a save this year and has pitched particularly well in relief, going 2-1 with a save and a 1.29 ERA with a .164 opposing batting average in 10 relief appearances.
- Freshman Danielle Lung leads the team and ranks second in the MW with a .225 opposing batting average. She has an 8-1 record over 19 appearances with nine starts, having earned wins in each of her last eight decisions, and she has recorded a save.
- Freshman McKenzie Wilson leads the MW with 20 stolen bases this year, already the eighth most stolen bases in a season in program history.
- Wilson has had at least one stolen base in 11 of the last 18 games with two steals in four different games.
- The 'Dogs are 17-7 with Wilson hitting leadoff this season as she is also hitting .343 and leading the team with 27 runs scored.
- Fresno State has won 15 straight non-conference games and is 21-6 in non-conference games this year (21-3 vs. non top-10 teams).
- The Bulldogs have three non-conference games remaining, all at home, with a doubleheader vs. Sacramento State next Wednesday and a game vs. Stanford on April 23.Â
- Miranda Rohleder was nearly unstoppable last week, going 11-for-15 (.733) with a .789 on-base percentage and 1.000 slugging percentage with a triple and two doubles. In two games on Saturday she hit a perfect 7-for-7.
- The junior second baseman has reached base in 20 of the last 21 games with hits in 15 of the last 21 contests, including eight multi-hit games.
- Rohleder leads the team and is tied for third in the MW with 21 walks this season.
- The Red Wave has averaged 1,103 fans per game over the first 16 Bulldog home games. That average is 11th most in NCAA Div. I, the highest among all 20 Div. I schools in California (including No. 1 UCLA), and the second highest among non-Power-5 schools.
- The Red Wave averaged 1,071 fans per game last season, the most in California and the 15th highest attendance average in the nation. The 'Dogs total attendance of 27,853 fans was 16th most in Div. I.
- Fresno State has averaged more than 1,000 fans per game for 26 consecutive seasons. No other MW team averaged more than 520 fans last year, less than half of the 'Dogs average.
- Fresno State is 14-2 at home this season with a 13-0 record in home non-conference games.
- In 16 home game the Bulldogs have hit .357 with 41 extra-base hits and scored 92 runs while also going 24-30 in stolen base attempts.
- The Fresno State pitchers have combined for a 1.69 ERA and .198 opposing batting average at home while allowing just 26 earned runs over 108.0 innings. All three pitchers have ERA's below 2.35 this season at Margie Wright Diamond.Â
- Bulldog senior center fielder Vanessa Hernandez leads the MW with 13 doubles and is tied for fourth in the conference with six home runs.
- Hernandez is tied for 9th in NCAA Div. I in doubles and leads the team with 31 RBIs and is second with a .626 slugging percentage.
- She has driven in multiple runs in 10 games this year with nine multi-hit games.
- As a team the 'Dogs are hitting .354 and averaging 5.8 runs per game over the last 20 contests.
- Four Bulldogs are hitting better than .425 during the stretch and the 'Dogs have a .522 slugging percentage and .444 on-base percentage with 25 stolen bases.
