COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the fourth time this season and the third time in the last five weeks, Fresno State sophomore Hailey Dolcini has been named MW Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Â
Dolcini has the most MW Pitcher of the Week honors by a conference pitcher in one season since former Bulldog Jill Compton received the accolade six times during the 2015 season. Dolcini was named MW Pitcher of the Week for the third time in the last five week, and paired with two Pitcher of the Week selections for freshman Danielle Lung, the Bulldogs have earned six of the 12 conference Pitcher of the Week honors this season.

Dolcini had arguably her most dominant week of the season, allowing just one unearned run with a 0.00 ERA over 12.0 innings in two complete game wins over New Mexico. She allowed just six hits (five singles) and struck out 18 batters, posting nine strikeouts in each of her two starts. She averaged 1.5 strikeouts per inning, recording at least one strikeout in 10 of 12 innings pitched with seven multi-strikeout innings.
Â
Dolcini permitted just 11 Lobo baserunners in 12 innings for a 0.92 WHIP. She allowed just two hits and two walks and one unearned run with nine strikeouts in Fresno State's 9-1 win in five innings on Friday. On Sunday, the UC Riverside transfer permitted four hits and had nine strikeouts in a 4-0 shutout in the series finale, picking up her sixth complete game shutout of the season.
Â
She has six complete-game shutouts and has pitched in eight total shutouts this year. Fresno State is 16-3 in Dolcini's 19 starts this season, and for the year she ranks second in the MW with 120 strikeouts, is tied for second with 15 wins, is fourth with a 2.07 ERA, and fourth with a .230 opposing batting average.
