- Seniors Emily Brodner, Vanessa Hernandez, Dominique Jackson, Rachel Minogue, Jade Nua, and Dolly Stevens will be honored on Saturday. Hernandez and Jackson have played four years as 'Dogs.
- Fresno State has won three straight home games and is 20-5 at Margie Wright Diamond this season, equaling the most home wins in seven years since the 2012 team finished 24-8 at home.Â
- Freshman McKenzie Wilson tied the single-season program record with her 34th steal on Sunday, matching Brenna Moss in 2013 and '14. She is two steals shy of the MW single-season record of 36.
- The Bulldogs have won 11 of their last 16 MW games while winning four of the last five MW series, including two straight home series wins. The 'Dogs could finish as high as third place in the MW.
- The 2019 NCAA Tournament field will be announced Sunday at 6 p.m. and a few hours later the selections and hosts will be announced for the National Invitational Softball Championship (NISC).
- Boise State leads the MW and ranks 8th in NCAA Div. I in both batting average (.336) and runs per game (7.00). The Broncos took 2-of-3 games vs. Colorado State last week and are No. 33 in RPI.

Scouting RV/RV Boise State (34-11, 12-9 MW)
- After winning 2-of-3 games over then-No. 25 Colorado State last week, Boise State is receiving votes in both polls this week and is the first team outside the Top-25 in the Coaches' Poll.
- The Broncos are No. 33 in RPI, the highest among MW schools after surpassing Colorado State.
- The team defeated No. 17 Ole Miss but did lose single games vs. New Mexico and Nevada.
- Boise State leads the MW and ranks 8th in NCAA Div. I in both batting average (.336) and runs per game (7.00). The Broncos are 4th in the nation with 17 triples and also lead the MW in home runs (59). The squad has a solid 2.96 team ERA and a .242 opposing batting average.
- Kora Wade leads the MW in batting average (.433), hits (68), and runs (48) and is second with 25 steals. Bradie Fillmore leads the league with 15 home runs and 50 RBIs with a 1.159 OPS.
- Boise State won the series over Fresno State last year but the 'Dogs won it in Fresno in 2017.
- Fresno State has won 11 of its last 16 MW games while winning four of the last five MW series, including two straight home series wins.
- The Bulldogs can still finish as high as third place in the final conference standings. Colorado State clinched its first MW title since 2004 with a win last Saturday.
- The field for the 2019 NCAA Tournament will be announced Sunday night at 6 p.m. Pacific time on ESPN2.
- A few hours after the NCAA selections are made, the field for the National Invitational Softball Championship (NISC), a secondary double-elimination postseason tournament, will be released.
- In its third year of existence, the NISC will likely include 16 teams but could have up to 32 participants. There will be four regional sites that will host games May 16-18 with the four regional winners advancing to the championship round, which will be hosted by tournament organizer Triple Crown Sports and be played May 24-26 in Fort Collins, Colo.
- Fresno State's six seniors will be honored prior to the final home game on Saturday.
- Vanessa Hernandez and Dominique Jackson have played their entire collegiate careers at Fresno State and both have already earned their bachelor's degrees and have been pursuing their masters this year.
- Emily Brodner, Rachel Minogue, Jade Nua, and Dolly Stevens have each played two seasons with the 'Dogs after transferring.
- Fresno State is 20-5 at home this season with three more home games to play. The 2019 'Dogs have equaled the most home wins since the 2012 team finished 24-8 at home.Â
- In 25 home game the Bulldogs have hit .336 with 33 stolen bases and a 1.46 team ERA, outscoring their opposition 133-44.
- Fresno State has had a winning home record in all 42 years of the program's existence and has won over 79% of its home games all time.
- Fresno State freshman McKenzie Wilson tied the single-season program record with her 34th steal of the year on Sunday at San Diego State, tying the record set by Brenna Moss in 2013 and 2014. Wilson leads the MW and all freshmen in NCAA Div. I in steals and is tied for 10th in the nation overall. She is just two steals shy of the MW single season record of 36, set by Utah's Molly McLean in 2001.
- Wilson has been named one of 25 finalists for the Schutt Sports / NFCA Freshman of the Year award, presented annually to the top freshman in NCAA Div. I. She is the first Bulldog to ever make the list and one of two MW players honored this year.
- For the season Wilson also leads the team in batting average (.390), runs (39), hits (64), multi-hit games (18), and three-hit games (8). She is on a 19-game reached base streak and a team season-long 11 game hitting streak.
- On the other side of the ball, freshman pitcher Danielle Lung ranks second in the MW with a .223 opposing batting average and leads the team with a 7-2 record and 2.72 ERA in MW play.
- Lung is also second in the MW with only 5.84 hits allowed per 7 innings and is tied for fifth with 14 wins while tallying 90 strikeouts.
- Lung had a streak of 22.0 consecutive innings pitched without allowing an earned run and won 10 consecutive decisions earlier this year.
- Fresno State is still undefeated at 28-0 this season when scoring first.
- The 'Dogs are 14-0 when leading after the first inning and 25-0 when leading after the second inning.
- The Bulldogs also have just two losses all season in games in which they held a lead.
- Fresno State's three pitchers combined to allow just four earned runs in three games last week at San Diego State.
- Danielle Lung, Danielle East, and Hailey Dolcini all started one game in the series and none of the three allowed more than one earned run in their respective starts.
- Over the last two weeks (seven games) the 'Dogs have allowed only six earned runs in 44.2 innings, good for a 0.94 team ERA, while posting a .202 opposing batting average.
- The Red Wave has averaged 1,043 fans per game this year. That attendance average is the highest among all 20 Div. I schools in California (including No. 2 UCLA), second highest among all non-Power-5 schools, and 16th most in all of NCAA Div. I.
- Fresno State's total of 26,079 fans this season is the 13th highest in the nation.
- No other MW team has averaged more than 484 fans per game this year, less than half of the 'Dogs average. Fresno State has averaged more than 1,000 fans per game for 26 consecutive seasons.
- Fresno State leads the MW with 12 shutouts this season. Hailey Dolcini has six complete game shutouts and has pitched in eight total shutouts to lead the team.
- The Bulldogs, who have been shutout offensively only six times this year, tallied seven shutouts all of last season and have recorded the most shutouts in a season since the 2015 team finished with 14.
- The Bulldog pitching staff also enters the week leading the league with a .229 opposing batting average.
- Rachel Minogue is the second-toughest player to strike out in NCAA Div. I, having struck out just twice in 156 official at-bats this year. North Carolina A&T's Zadaisha Waddell leads all qualified hitters with just one strikeout but in only 85 at-bats.
- Minogue previously ranked as the toughest player to strike out with just one K over her first 118 at-bats of the year before striking out for just the second time on April 13.
- Minogue went 31 games between strikeouts and has just two strikeouts this year after striking out just six times all last year.
- Minogue is also second on the team hitting .346 this year and is second with 36 RBIs.
- Fresno State is second in the MW and ranks 27th in NCAA Div. I with a .398 team on-base percentage this year.
- Five Bulldog starters have on-base percentages better than .400 while two have .450+ OBPs this year.
- As a team the Bulldogs finished fifth in NCAA Div. I with a .410 on-base percentage last year.Â
- Bulldog pitchers have earned six of the 13 MW Pitcher of the Week honors this season. No other team has received more than three selections.
- Sophomore Hailey Dolcini earned the honor for the fourth time on April 30 after allowing just one unearned run and striking out 18 batters over 12.0 innings in two complete game wins over New Mexico.
- Freshman Danielle Lung has also received the award twice, and Dolcini is the first MW pitcher to receive four Pitcher of the Week honors in one season since former Bulldog Jill Compton got the accolade six times in 2015.
- With its win at Utah State on April 20, Fresno State secured a 30-win season for the 38th consecutive year. The program has had an overall winning record in all 41 seasons of its existence.
- In its storied history Fresno State has won 23 conference titles, 59 NCAA Regional games, and 93 total postseason games, reaching the Women's College World Series 12 times with four runner-up finishes and winning the 1998 NCAA title.
- Junior Schuylar Broussard hit five home runs over a seven game stretch after hitting seven total homers in her first 138 collegiate games. She homered in each game in Fresno State's three-game sweep of Utah State, including a pair of two-run home runs in the finale, and went deep again against New Mexico.
- Broussard has also reached base in 18 straight games, hitting .395 with nine extra-base hits, eight RBIs, and nine runs during the stretch.
- She also made a sensational diving catch for the final out in the Utah State finale to complete the series sweep. The play was No. 7 on the Sportscenter Top-10 that night and was shared by NCAA Softball on social media, garnering nearly 200,000 views.
- In 20 starts this season sophomore transfer Hailey Dolcini is 15-4 with a 1.30 ERA and .203 opposing batting average. The 'Dogs are 16-4 in her 20 starts this year and she is 10-1 with a 0.68 ERA at home.
- Overall this season Dolcini ranks second in the MW with 123 strikeouts, is tied for second with 15 wins, is third with a 2.05 ERA, and third with a .229 opposing batting average.
- The 'Dogs are 18-7 in their last 25 games overall, including a seven-game win streak.
- Over the last 25 games the Bulldogs have hit .317 as a team while averaging 5.1 runs per game. The pitchers have combined for a 1.84 ERA and .213 opposing batting averaging with just 44 earned runs allowed in 167.2 innings.Â
- Bulldog senior center fielder Vanessa Hernandez leads the MW and is tied for 15th in NCAA Div. I with 18 doubles this year, the fifth most doubles in a season in program history.
- Hernandez is also third on the team with 35 RBIs and has driven in multiple runs in 11 games this year with 12 multi-hit games, including six three-hit games.
