New head coach in town - Fresno State announced that former assistant coach Kara Concheck would take over as the program's interim head coach on Jan. 8, 2020. Concheck, a Bulldog alumni, comes back to Fresno State after most recently serving as the head women's lacrosse coach at Saint Francis (2016-19).

Concheck announced the additions of Princess Zabel and Abigail Bergevin to her staff as assistant coaches on Feb. 10. The pair will assist with the Bulldog defensive group.

A look at the roster - Fresno State returns 2019 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Rookie of the Year in attacker Sydney Skalstad. The Bulldogs also welcome back all six All-Conference selections from 2019 in Skalstad, Tiffiny Wallace, Kayla Galet, Olivia Mannon, Abbigayle Roberts and Laurel Maunder.

The Bulldogs added 10 freshmen to the roster for the 2020 season after graduating seven seniors last spring.

Captains - A group of four seniors were announced as team captains during the fall. Wallace, Maunder, Mannon and Kayle Kaesbauer were selected by their teammates and coaches as the captains for 2020.

Last season - Fresno State finished the 2019 season with a 7-7 (0-2 MPSF) record. The Bulldogs had their best start to a season with a 3-0 start a season ago. The Bulldogs knocked off two Pac-12 opponents for the first time in program history to start the season, including their first-ever win versus Oregon.

Scouting Furman (1-0, 0-0 Southern Conference)
- Furman opened its season with a 14-11 home win over East Carolina on Feb. 7.
- The Paladins were led offensively by senior Grace Pollack who notched five goals with three made free-position goals last weekend.
- Pollack was a SoCon preseason all-conference selection after earning a first team all-conference nod last season.
- Junior Hannah Demis led the team with four assists in their win against East Carolina.
- The Paladins swept the weekly honors by the SoCon as Pollack earned the offensive player honor and freshman goalkeeper Meghan Deehan earned the defensive honor after her first collegiate start in the cage.
- Furman was tabbed second in the 2020 SoCon preseason poll behind reigning conference tournament champion Mercer.
- Last season, Furman finished with a 11-8 overall record, and 4-1 conference mark.
Scouting Winthrop (0-0, 0-0 Big South)
- The Eagles open their 2020 season with a home game against Old Dominion on Saturday, Feb. 15 before hosting Fresno State on Monday.
- Winthrop finished the 2019 season with a 8-11 record (4-2 Big South).
- The Eagles had an 0-6 start to their season before picking up the first win of the year on Mar. 6. Winthrop had a five game winning streak stretching from Mar. 21 through April 10, winning three Big South games in that stretch.
- Three Eagles were selected as preseason honorees in juniors Lauren Morris and McKenna Blick, and sophomore Mia Creighton.
- Winthrop was picked to finish second in the Big South Conference this season behind High Point who garnered all seven first place votes in the preseason poll.
- Morris was the team's leading scorer a season ago with 46 goals and 73 points. She was a first team All-Big South selection.
