The 'Dogs have two opponents in front of them that are ranked in the poll including No. 1 Washington and No. 6 Texas (USA Today/Coaches Poll).
Fresno State is 0-2 against ranked teams after falling to then-ranked No. 7 Florida (6-4) and then-ranked No. 17 Michigan (1-0) during the opening weekend.
Home Cooking
In the first five games at home this season the Bulldogs are 5-0, hitting .379 with 13 stolen bases and a 1.63 team ERA, outscoring their opposition 50-9.
Fresno State went 23-5 at home last season. The 2019 'Dogs recorded the most home wins since the 2012 team finished 24-8 at home.Â

Fresno State was picked to finish fifth in the Mountain West. The Spartans led the way with 53 points (two first place votes), after posting a second place finish in 2019 with a 17-7 MW record. San Diego State was picked to finish second (50 points, three first place votes) and a tie between 2019 MW champion Colorado State (45 points, one first place vote) and UNLV (45 points, one first place vote) rounds out the top three positions. Fresno State received 44 points (one first place vote) followed by Boise State, Nevada, Utah State and New Mexico.
The Bulldogs finished fourth in the MW in 2019, with an overall record of 37-20 (14-10 MW).

- Fresno State is 8-3, and coming off a 7-3 loss in extra innings (9) to Stanford (11-2) Tuesday night on the road.
- Fresno State has won five out of its last six games.
- Fresno State is a perfect 5-0 at home this season.
- Last weekend, freshman Alesia Denby had a marquee tournament at the plate going 9-of-15 with nine hits, nine runs, four triples, one grand slam, and 13 RBIs, batting .600.
- Juniors Hailey Dolcini and Danielle East threw a combined no-hitter in the Bulldogs' 10-0 victory over Saint Mary's on Feb. 16.
- Fresno State has six players batting above .300 in McKenzie Wilson (.466), Vanessa Hernandez (.400), Alesia Denby (.367), Kaitlyn Jennings (.375), Miranda Rohleder (.357) and Schuylar Broussard (.333).
- Fresno State returned seven position player starters and its entire bullpen for the 2020 season.

Junior left fielder Sammy Fabian, 2019 All-Big West selection, leads the team with 15 hits and is batting .455 through the first ten games. Emily Schuttish has led the Gauchos in the circle with a 2.88 ERAÂ and a 2-0 record.
- Chicago is 3-2 this season, posting wins over Furman and Memphis at the FGCU Invitational. Chicago was picked first in the Horizon League Preseason Poll. The Flames return Kayla Wedl, who was an All-Region First Team selection and has been named to the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Watch List.
- Ohio State is 3-5 this season. Ohio State is on a four-game losing streak after going 0-5 at the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Avery Clark has earned two Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors this season. She batted .500 and slugged 1.250 through four games over the weekend. Ohio State earned a bid to the 2019 NCAA Tournament, marking its fourth consecutive appearance.
- Pacific is 5-3 this season, and 0-1 on the road. The Tigers are coming off a 3-2 win over Nevada. Myka Sutherlin leads the Tigers in the circle with a 2-0 record, 1.20 ERA and 21 strikeouts. Carly Lucchetti and Jessica Mabrey were named to the 2020 All-West Coast Conference Preseason Softball Team.
