Clayson wins Gold, Fresno State in fifth after day three of MW Championship

MINNEAPOLIS – The Fresno State swim and dive team finished the third day of the 2020 Mountain West Championship with two medals. Athena Clayson claimed the Gold medal in the 100 Back and Darina Khisiamova set a new school record record with a Silver medal finish in the 400 IM.Â

Fresno State sits in fifth place after three days of competition with a score of 534.

Swimming
- Clayson earned the first Gold medal of the week with a time of 53.47 in the 100 Back. Clayson set a new school record in the 100 Back (53.20) on Thursday in her split of the 400 Medley Relay.Â
- Anna Moers took 10th in the 100 Back with a time of 54.84.
- Khisiamova earned the second medal for the Bulldogs with a second place finish in the 400 IM, recording a tine of 4:15.28 to set a new program record. Manuela Mendolicchio took fourth in the 400 IM and Lucy Davies finished sixth.Â
- Fresno State earned 78 points in the 400 IM.Â
- Fresno State (Moers, Cutler, Harbert, Bowen) finished seventh in the 200 yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:33.44
- Kimberly Harbert finished ninth in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 54.15.
- Megan Ridenour had an 11th place finish in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:03.09.Â
