Fresno State earns NCEA Sportsmanship Award

WACO, Texas - The No. 4 Fresno State equestrian team earned the Cavalor Sportsmanship Award, as announced by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association on Friday. The Bulldogs earned the honor for the first time in program history.

The Sportsmanship Award began in the 2012-13 season, and is an award that recognizes one team that exemplifies great sportsmanship throughout the season. Teams are nominated and voted on by coaches in the NCEA.

Fresno State is the second Big 12 team to ever earn the award. Kansas State was the last Big 12 team to be honored as Sportsmanship Team of the Year as it earned the honor in its last season as part of the conference (2016).

The Bulldogs had a record-breaking season as they reached their highest-ever team ranking, competed in their first season in the Big 12, defeated ranked opponents and earned program-high all-conference and all-american honors. For the Bulldogs, earning the Cavalor Sportsmanship Award is the cherry on top of a great season.
