FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 6 Fresno State equestrian team and head coach Eric Hubbard have announced the competition schedule for the upcoming spring season. In its 25th season of competition, the Bulldog equestrian team enters its second season as a member of the Big 12.
Â
The Bulldogs are fresh off of a 8-5 overall record in the shortened 2019-20 season and are looking forward to continuing the success that was showcased last year. Four of Fresno State's 2021 opponents finished the 2019-20 season in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Top 10. In the team rankings announced by the NCEA on Nov. 18, 2020, all five of the Bulldogs' opponents this season appear in the Top 10 with UC Davis checking in at the 10 spot.
Â
The 2021 spring schedule features two home dates, three true road competitions and three neutral site meets.
Â
Fresno State will open its season at home against No. 10 UC Davis on Feb. 6. A week later, the 'Dogs travel north to face the Aggies at their home site (Feb. 13).
Â
The Bulldogs will hit the road for a pair of neutral site competitions in Texas on Feb. 18-19. Fresno State will have its first Big 12 competition on the 18th, going head-to-head with No. 9 Baylor in Fort Worth. From there, the 'Dogs turn towards a competition with conference opponent and second-ranked Oklahoma State in Waco the next day.
Â
The 'Dogs will kick off the month of March with another trip to the Lone Star State for a tri-meet with No. 8 TCU and No. 5 SMU on Mar. 5 and Mar. 6, respectively. The meets will be hosted by SMU in Dallas.
Â
Senior Day for the Bulldogs is scheduled for Thursday, Mar. 11 against UC Davis at the Student Horse Center. Fresno State will close out its regular season with another trip to Davis to face the Aggies on Mar. 13.
Â
The Big 12 Championship is scheduled for Mar. 26-27 and will be hosted by Baylor in Waco, Texas. The National Collegiate Equestrian Association National Championship will be held April 14-17 in Waco.
Â
Start times and live stats information for all meets will be available at a later date.Â
Â
