FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State men's basketball team defeated the Idaho Vandals 69-62 on Monday night at the Save Mart Center.
Fresno State (3-0) led for more than 37 of the game's 40 minutes, largely fueled by another efficient night from the field.

Fresno State junior forward Orlando Robinson recorded his 18th career double-double with a season-high 27 points paired with 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals.Â
How It Happened: After Idaho's Trevante Anderson opened the scoring with three free throws, Robinson rattled off eight points over the next five minutes to give the Bulldogs a 10-7 lead over the Vandals.

The contest remained tight, but Robinson continued to execute in the post, early one-on-one and later slicing through Idaho's zone.

On the passing of Fresno State deputy athletics director Meredith Jenkins...
"First and foremost before we get started, I want to give my prayers out to Meredith Jenkins and her family. You know, she was my sport supervisor when I first got here. I was drawn to her immediately because of her southern twang. Everybody always talks about how I talk and asks where I'm from and she had that same "y'all" type of saying, and I enjoyed my time that I worked with her. It's a sad day today, it's a very sad day today, but we know she's going to be doing well upstairs. And our team missed her, they found out today, they were a little sad about it today also. So, to her family, I want to let her family know that she'll be missed by Bulldog Basketball."
Â
On the team's performance...
"The last two games we shot over 50% from the field but both times we turned the ball over so we did the addition in there today. But if you cut those in half, and then we make half of those shots, add those points up, and then usually when we turn it over, the other team is in transition, so now that helps our defense. So that's what we talked about in there because if we're going to be good, we're going to have to cut that out."
Â
What did you appreciate about Orlando…
"His effort is always appreciated, you know, we appreciate his effort every day. And tonight he started off really strong, and then he finished strong and that's what we needed."
Â
About teaching lessons coming off of a win…
"We're always happy when we win. These kids, these young men actually, they work so hard and we're appreciative of how hard they work and the effort they put in so we're always very appreciative of any wins. We're happy to have a little day off tomorrow, especially them, they need it. They've been going hard for a while now and then we'll get ready for the games coming next week."
Orlando Robinson, Fresno State junior guard
On the game…
"Well in the first half I knew I had to be aggressive in some areas and in the second half having Deon back was a huge relief. We practiced all summer together, so having him back out there, it was great."
Â
On continue to build in non-conference play…
"We want to be a really good team and we're going to have to work and get those things done. It's only going to get harder from here and we're going to need to pay attention to the details so that we can succeed at a high level... Patience and allowing us to see is what really makes it happen. When everybody eats, everybody is happy."
