THE BREAKDOWN
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
After two games at home, Fresno State heads back out on the road this weekend, heading to San Diego for The Dana on Mission Bay Holiday Tournament. The Bulldogs will play their next five games away from Fresno.Â
Through four games, Haley Cavinder has had her hand in everything that the Bulldogs have done. The 5-foot-6 point guard ranks leads the Mountain West in points (20.8 ppg) and rebounds (11.0 rpg). She also sits first in double-doubles (3), free throw percentage (1.000) and 3-point field goals made per game (3.25) and 3-point percentage (48.1), and second in assists (6.8).
Last time out, Fresno State's posts were busy in the paint with both Maria Guimaraes and Imani Lacy reaching double figures for the first time this season. Guimaraes finished the night 5-of-8 from field while Lacy was just 2-of-5 from the field but was 7-of-8 from the line.
With her 10th point at BYU (Nov. 13), Hanna Cavinder became the 28th player in Fresno State history to join the 1,000 point club. She also became the second Cavinder to reach the career milestone, joining her sister Haley who accomplished the feat late last season.

THE BREAKDOWN
- Fresno State faces a tough challenge this weekend as the squad plays in the The Dana on Mission Bay Holiday Tournament in San Diego. The other three teams in the field enter the weekend with a combined 11-2 record.
- The Bulldogs are beginning a five-game road trip this week. The 'Dogs will not return to the Save Mart Center for a game until Dec. 18.
- Fresno State is 3-1 all-time in San Diego, winning in its last trip, a 93-88 shootout on Nov. 28, 2014.
- The 'Dogs have never met Drexel or Nebraska in a true home or road game, only facing the two programs on neutral courts.
- Haley Cavinder ranks in the Top 25 nationally in points (23rd - 20.8 ppg), rebounds (21st - 11.0 rpg) and assists per game (11th - 6.8).

SCOUTING SAN DIEGO
- San Diego enters this week's tournament with a 3-1 record, earning wins over Hawai'i, Idaho and Air Force. USD's lone loss was a 6-point defeat to Washington in Seattle, Wash.
- The Toreros last played on Nov. 17, picking up a 52-46 win over Air Force .
- San Diego is averaging 63.8 points per game but is holding opponents to just 50.5. Opponents are shooting just 34.8 percent from the field against the Toreros.
- USD ranks No. 2 in the NCAA in 3-point defense, holding teams to 12.2 percent.Â
- The Toreros are forcing the fourth-most turnovers per game nationally (29.0). They rank No. 2 steals per game with 17.2 per game.
- Jordyn Edwards (3.50) and Kiera Oakry (2.75) each rank in the top 100 in steals with Edwards ranking No. 22 in the nation.
- Edwards is also the lone Terero averaging double figures, scoring 10.3 point per game.
- Drexel enters the tournament and its game with Nebraska with a 3-1 record. The Dragons came into the year off a NCAA Tournament appearance in 2021.
- Drexel is averaging 62.3 points per game while holding teams to 58.0.
- The Dragons rank in the Top 50 nationally in ball control, ranking 39th in turnovers per game (13.2), 49th in fewest turnovers (53) and 46th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.17).
- Four Dragons are scoring in double figures with Tessa Brugler averaging 16.0 points per game. Brugler (16.0 ppg/9.8 rpg) and Mariah Leonard (11.0 ppg/9.0 rpg) are each averaging just shy of double-double.
- Nebraska enters the weekend with a 5-0 record, last playing on Saturday, a 113-58 win over North Carolina Central.
- The Huskers rank No. 1 in the NCAA in scoring offense (95.6 ppg) and scoring margin (45.6). They're also No. 1 in assist-turnover ratio (1.90), No. 2 in assists per game (22.4), No. 5 in rebounds per game (50.4), No. 6 in 3-point percentage (43.8) and field goal percentage defense (28.5), No. 7 in field goal percentage (50.4).
- Led by Isabelle Bourne (14.2 ppg), five Huskers average above 9.5 points per game.
- Nebraska has three players in the Top 11 nationally in assist-turnover ratio.
