Alexander earns national honor

Bailey Alexander has been named the NCEA Shorty's Reining Rider of the Month.
FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State junior Bailey Alexander has been named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Shorty's Reining Rider of the Month for her efforts in November. Alexander was 3-0-1 in her rides throughout the month, averaging a 72.25 in her reining rides in that time.

Monday's announcement marks Alexander's third career NCEA National Rider of the Month honor, and her first since March 2021. It's the first monthly honor for the Bulldogs this season.

The junior opened the month with a 70-70 tie against No. 1 Oklahoma State. She followed up the next day with a MOP honor and 73-71.5 win against No. 7 SMU. Alexander had back-to-back road wins against SMU (73-72.5) and Baylor (73-71.5).

The Redding, Calif. native did not score lower than a 73 while on the road.

Fresno State looks toward its winter recess, before returning to action at TCU on Feb. 18.
