Bulldogs climb to No. 8 in latest NCEA team rankings

WACO, Texas - The Fresno State equestrian team made the move back up to the eighth-ranked team in the nation, as announced by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association on Wednesday.

As the No. 9 team last week, Fresno State opened its season at No. 10 UC Davis last Saturday and won on the road in a tight 10-9 victory. The Bulldogs earned three MOP honors in the win with Cecily Hayes earning the award in the fences, Kameron Thorn in the horsemanship and Lexee Padrick in the reining.

The Bulldogs' western squads combined for a 6-3 win to lead the way for Fresno State in the win. In the series with UC Davis, Fresno State is a perfect 6-0 with three more competitions between the programs this season.

Fresno State's meets versus Baylor and Oklahoma State in Texas, originally scheduled for Feb. 18-19, have been postponed due to expected weather conditions in the area. Fresno State's next scheduled competition is a home meet with UC Davis on Thursday, Feb. 25.
