The Fresno State women’s tennis team swept through doubles and finished off the victory by winning four of the six singles matches to improve to 6-3 on the season.

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's tennis team opened its final weekend of nonconference play with a 5-2 win over the Santa Clara Broncos on Saturday afternoon at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.

Fresno State (6-3) won all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point, and then Dalia Ahmed quickly dispatched Santa Clara's JennaMarie Gordon at the top singles spot to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead over the Broncos.

SCU even the contest by winning at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, but A.C. Hummel and Ella Husrefovic each rallied to win in three sets to clinch the match for Fresno State, who also had Cristina Flaquer complete a three-set comeback victory at No. 2 singles for the 5-2 win.
