Fresno State falls to TCU in Big 12 Championship semifinal

WACO, Texas - The No. 2-seed Fresno State equestrian team suffered a 15-4 defeat to third-seeded TCU in the semifinal round of the Big 12 Championship on Friday. The Bulldogs have the chance to compete for third place in the tournament tomorrow.Â
How it Happened
TCU opened the meet with a 5-0 sweep in the fences. The Bulldogs' first point of the day came from senior Paley Capachi with a 133-126 point in the reining. Capachi's point in the reining was the only one that the Bulldogs would earn in the event as the Horned Frogs won the next three points, and sophomore Julianne Kelley tied in her ride with a 135.5.Â
At the break, TCU had a 8-1 lead.Â
The Bulldogs had the most success in the flat, but still fell short in the event. Fresno State won points from Cecily Hayes (155-142) and Ana Bertozzi (154-150). TCU won the flat, 3-2.Â
In the horsemanship, Fresno State fell 4-1. The lone Bulldog point came from Brooklyn Moch with a 141.5-134.5 win against her Horned Frog opponent.Â
