Bulldogs secure All-Big 12 honors

WACO, Texas - Following the conclusion of the 2021 Big 12 Equestrian Championship on Saturday, the conference announced its All-Big 12 selections of the season. The Bulldogs were represented in each of the four events as four Bulldogs were honored this year. Each Fresno State equestrian represented on the All-Big 12 teams earns their first career all-conference recognition.

Fresno State sophomore Ana Bertozzi was an All-Big 12 selection in both the fences and the flat. She was the only rider in the conference to earn a spot on both jumping seat teams. Bertozzi finished the regular season with a 6-1-1 record in the flat and a 5-3 mark in the fences. She led the team in both events. Bertozzi also had the most jumping seat MOPs on the team this season, earning two in the fences and one in the flat.

Junior Kameron Thorn was a horsemanship All-Big 12 selection. Thorn finished the season with a 5-3 mark to lead the team in the event. The junior also had a team-best four MOPs on the year, the most in a single season in her career. She closed out the regular season with back-to-back wins and MOPs.

The Bulldogs had two reiners honored by the Big 12, the most by any school in the conference this season. Junior Lexee Padrick and sophomore Julianne Kelley were two of the four honorees on the All-Big 12 reining team. Kelley led the team with a 6-1-1 mark through the regular season. She also posted the highest reining score by any Bulldog on the year with a 72.5 against Baylor (Mar. 7). Padrick, who was 5-2-1 this season, went undefeated in her regular season Big 12 rides. She also led the team with two MOP honors.

Fresno State tied with TCU for the most All-Big 12 selections (5), while Baylor and Oklahoma State had three apiece. All four Big 12 programs will resume action on April 15-17 at the NCEA National Championship held at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas.
