Bulldogs secure sweep in 4th MW win

The Fresno State women’s tennis team improved to 11-4 on the season (4-1 in Mountain West) with a 4-0 sweep of Colorado State on Saturday in Wyoming.
LARAMIE, Wyo. – The Fresno State women's tennis team defeated the Colorado State Rams 4-0 in Laramie at the Wyoming Tennis Complex on Saturday.
The win keeps Fresno State (11-4, 4-1 Mountain West) in a tie for second-place in the conference standings – a half match back of San Jose State.
The Bulldogs opened the match by winning the doubles point with victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, and then finished off their sweep with straight-set triumphs by A.C. Hummel (7-5, 6-1) and Carolina Piferi (6-1, 6-0) at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively.
Colorado State (1-4, 0-1 MW) did not have a player to compete at No. 6 singles, which accounted for Fresno State's fourth point.
