Bulldogs defeat Falcons 4-1 in Reno

Fresno State is tied for the most Mountain West victories (7) after Friday's 4-1 win over Air Force in Reno.
RENO, Nev. – The Fresno State women's tennis team defeated the Air Force Falcons 4-1 on Friday at the McArthur Tennis Center in Reno.

Fresno State (14-5, 7-2 Mountain West) rallied to earn the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions, and then took a 3-0 lead over Air Force with straight-set victories by Ella Husrefovic (playing up at No. 5) and Carolina Piferi (No. 4).

Deniza Marcinkevica clinched the match for the Bulldogs with a strong showing in returning to No. 2 singles for the first time since March 12. Marcinkevica won a first-set tiebreaker and then closed out AFA's Sydney Finch in the second set to seal Fresno State's seventh MW victory of the season.
The Bulldogs are one of three MW teams with seven conference wins entering their final matches this weekend.
