'Dogs close regular season with sweep of Nevada

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State's men's tennis team earned a win in their final home match of the season Saturday afternoon, defeating Nevada with a dominant 4-0 result Senior Day.
"It's been an emotional week," head coach Luke Shields said. "But the guys have kept it together and I'm proud of these young men to stick together through all the commotion that's been going on and have such a successful season."
Fresno State's season comes to a close with a 20-4 (5-2 MW) overall record, and a 94-25 singles record overall. Bulldog seniors Angus Bradshaw, Zdenek Derkas, and Henrique Osorio were all honored prior to their final match. All three finished the season with double digit win totals.
Doubles
The Bulldogs began the match with a dominant performance in doubles play, winning at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. The first win came from the pair of seniors in Angus Bradshaw and Zdenek Derkas at the No. 1 spot 6-0. Just minutes later Dario Huber and Aleksandr Myagkov clinched the doubles point 6-3 at the No. 2 spot.
Singles
The 'Dogs continued their dominance in singles play with Myagkov clinching the No. 4 spot in two sets, 6-4, 6-4.
Osorio earned a victory on his senior day with a win at the No. 6 spot 6-4, 6-3 to put the 'Dogs on the verge of the team win. The 'Dogs clinched the match with a win from Huber at the No. 2 spot, 6-3, 2-6, 6-0.
