FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State claimed three of the ITA Northwest Region's eight annual awards, the organization announced Monday. Individually, Steve Loop was named Assistant Coach of the Year and Angus Bradshaw was selected Most Improved Senior. The team also earned the Community Service Award.
Loop has been a mainstay on the Bulldogs' staff, serving as an assistant to Head Coach Luke Shields for the last five years. This season, he helped the 'Dogs earn the best record in the region at 20-4, and their highest winning percentage in 25 years (.833).
Following a 4-9 record during a shortened 2020 season, Bradshaw put together his best year as a collegiate, compiling a 16-3 singles record. Aiding his efforts was a 10-match unbeaten streak to open the season. Playing alongside Zdenek Derkas, Bradshaw earned All-MW Doubles Team honors as the two went 8-1 together during the last month of the season.
