Covington's career comes to a close on final day of NCAA West prelims

COLLGE STATION, Texas – Fresno State concluded its week at the NCAA West Preliminary Round on Saturday as Breanna Covington placed 33rd in the triple jump at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
Making her first NCAA prelim appearance, the Fresno native's best jump of the competition registered 12.51m/41-0.5. The event concluded Covington's Bulldog career. The senior finishes her time ranked No. 2 in the triple jump in program history (12.77m/41-10.75).
Vanja Spaic will be the lone Bulldog representing Fresno State in two weeks at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore. The senior will be making her third appearance in the javelin after qualifying on Thursday.
