FRESNO, Calif. – With less than three months until the start of the 2021-22 college basketball season the Mountain West unveiled its conference schedule on Friday morning. Fresno State will open its league schedule with back-to-back home games against UNLV and San Diego State beginning on Dec. 28.
The format has reverted back to an 18-game MW slate includes nine home and nine road games, similar to how it looked in seasons prior to the 2021 conference season.
The Bulldogs will play every conference opponent twice except Boise State and Colorado State. Fresno State's lone match-up with the Broncos comes in Boise on Feb. 2. It is the third time since 2018 that the Bulldogs have only played Boise once during a regular season with the 'Dogs traveling to Idaho for those matchups in 2018 and 2020. Fresno State has only gone one season in the Mountain West without playing the Rams twice during the regular season (2016). The two will square-off at the Save Mart Center on Jan. 6.
Fresno State will see its two MW byes come on Jan. 27 and Feb. 9.
Fresno State's final home game will be against Air Force on Feb. 26. The Bulldogs will close the regular season on the road at Utah State on March 2. The Mountain West Basketball Championship begins four days later at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. First round games start on March 6 and the tournament concludes on March 9 with the championship game.
Details on Fresno State's non-conference schedule will come at a later date.
