- LMU is 1-1 after the opening weekend of the season falling in four sets to No. 8 Purdue before defeating Kansas a day later in four sets.Â
- The Lions are receiving votes in this week's AVCA Top 25 poll.
- The Lions were selected fourth in the Preseason WCC poll and had a pair of preseason All-WCC selections in Kari Geissberger and Megan Rice.
- LMU is led by fifth-year head coach Aaron Mansfield and went 7-9 in the spring 2021 season finishing fourth in the WCC.
- The Lions lead the WCC and rank 17th in the nation in kills per set (14.88).
- Geissberger leads the WCC in kills per set (4.62) and ranks 17th nationally.
- CSUN is off to a 1-2 start with a win over Campbell at the Trojan Invitational and fell to Denver and USC.
- The Matadors were selected seventh in the Preseason Big West poll.
- CSUN did not play in the spring and went 12-16 in 2019.
- Susie Terrusa is in her first season as the interim head coach.
- CSUN ranks fourth in the Big West in total attacks (355) and blocks (22) .
- Taylor Hunter, who was named to the Trojan Invite All-Tournament Team, is off to a hot start hitting .404 with 25 kills and 14 blocks in three matches.
- UC Riverside is off to a 1-1 start with a win over Fordham in four sets before being swept by MW foe New Mexico at the Titan Classic hosted by Cal State Fullerton.
- The Highlanders did not play in the spring and went 6-22 in 2019.
- UCR was picked 11th in the preseason Big West poll.
- Head coach Michelle Patton-Coleman is her eighth season.
- Senior outside hitter Marina Gonzalez leads the team with 25 kills while setter Zoey Seput leads the team with 53 assists.
- Fresno State brings back 11 returners this spring while welcoming five newcomers.
- The 2021 spring Bulldogs finished 8-6Â overall and tied for fourth in the MW with Wyoming.
- The 'Dogs have combined to win 44 matches in head coach Jonathan Winder's first three seasons, the second-most wins in a head coaches' first three seasons in program history.
- The 'Dogs return a pair of All-Mountain West selections in redshirt senior Desiree Sukhov and junior Amaria Kelley.
- Sukhov was named to the All-MW Preseason Team as the Bulldogs were picked fifth in the MW Preseason poll.
- Fresno State is 32-17-1 in 50 recorded season openers (1971-Spring '21).
- The Bulldogs have won four of their last five home openers with wins vs. UC Irvine (2016), CSU Bakersfield (2017), Fresno Pacific (2018) & San Jose State (Spring '21).
