FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 9 Fresno State equestrian team hosts No. 5 Auburn at the Student Horse Center on Saturday at 10 a.m. PT. Saturday's meet marks the second SEC opponent that Fresno State (Big 12) has competed against this season.

WESTERN 'DOGS
- Fresno State is 4-5-1 in its western events through one meet this season.
- The horsemanship squad has a 2-2-1 mark with reining at 2-3.
- Sophomore Shelby Robinette was named the September NCEA Reining Rider of the Month after a program-record 79 last time out against Texas A&M. Her 79 was also the third-highest reining score in NCEA history.
- Robinette was the reining MOP in Fresno State's last meet.
- Robinette and Sarah Semrau rode in their first career reining rides last time out.
- In the horsemanship, Alex Krebs and Ella Storch won points last time out.
- Storch won her point in her first career ride.
- Kendra Lee had the highest horsemanship score (73) by any Bulldog last week, tying with her TAMU opponent.
JUMPING SEAT 'DOGS
- Fresno State is 4-6 in the jumping seat events this season.
- The fences lead the way with a 3-2 record and the flat has a 1-4 mark in one meet this year.
- Senior Ana Bertozzi was named the September Big 12 Flat Rider of the Month after a 90-82 ride against Texas A&M.
- Bertozzi earned the MOP in the flat for her win last time out.
- Bertozzi was the lone Bulldog to go 2-0 in her jumping seat events last meet, winning in both the fences and the flat.
- Jillian Spencer (flat) rode in her first career ride against Texas A&M.
- The jumping seat team is coached by first-year assistant coach Sierra Swaffar. Swaffar is a Bulldog equestrian alumni, having rode for the 'Dogs 2014-18 in both jumping seat events. Swaffar left Fresno State as one of the most decorated jumping seat riders in Bulldog equestrian history, being one of only two Bulldogs in program history to be named a first team flat All-American.
SCOUTING AUBURN
- Auburn opened the season with an 11-8 road win against then-No. 5 Georgia on the road.
- Auburn was the 2021-22 SEC champion a season ago, knocking off Texas A&M in the championship round. Auburn has won four-straight SEC championships.
- Auburn is a five-time national championship team.
- Before heading to Fresno State on Saturday, Auburn has a contest at UC Davis on Friday afternoon.
