'Dogs drop meet at No. 5 Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Fresno State equestrian team fell 14-6 at No. 5 Texas A&M on Thursday afternoon. Fresno State's road trip continues tomorrow with a matchup at No. 8 Baylor.Â
How it happened
The meet began with the reining and flat. Fresno State scored three points in the first half, one in the flat and two in the reining. Sophomore Jillian Spencer earned her first point of the season with a career-high 79 to her opponents 77 in the flat. In the reining, redshirt freshman Brogan Hill scored a career-high 73.5 to her opponent's 69 to win her point. Hill earned her first reining point as a Bulldog. Senior Julianne Kelley won the second reining point with a 69-68.5 edging.
Fresno State scored three additional points in the second half with fences and horsemanship.
In the fences, senior Ana Bertozzi won the lone Bulldog point in the event with a 82-79 ride. On the western side, Kendra Lee and Hannah Buijs earned points. Lee scored a career-high 74.5 for her first career win. Buijs won the final point with a large margin of victory, outscoring her opponent 75-64.5.
