Bulldogs open Big 12 competition on the road

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State equestrian team is set to compete for its first time since mid-October and in its first road test this week at No. 2 TCU and No. 6 Oklahoma State on Thursday and Friday, respectively. Both meets this week are Big 12 competition, marking the first conference tests for the 'Dogs this season.
Following its Oct. 15 home loss to Auburn, Fresno State dropped out of the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Top 10.

WESTERN 'DOGS
- Fresno State is 5-13-2 in its western events this season.
- Horsemanship leads the way with three wins, and reining adds the remaining two.
- Fresno State has won a western MOP honor in both meets this season as Shleby Robinette earned the reining MOP against Texas A&M and Hannah Buijs won the horsemanship MOP against Auburn.
- Three Bulldogs have a 1-1 record in the horsemanship this season - Hannah Buijs, Alex Krebs and Ella Storch
- Just one Bulldog remains unbeaten in the reining, Julianne Kelley. The senior has a 1-0-1 record in the reining.
- Last time out, Buijs recorded the highest horsemanship score by any Bulldog on the year with a 76.5 to win the MOP and her point against Auburn.
- After earning the MOP against Auburn, Buijs now has six horsemanship MOPs in her career. It is the most by any western rider on the team.
- Robinette set a program record with a 79 in the reining in the season opener against Texas A&M
JUMPING SEAT 'DOGS
- Fresno State is 5-14-1 in its jumping seat rides this season.
- Fences leads the group with three wins and the flat adds two.
- The Bulldogs have one MOP in the jumping seat events this season as Ana Bertozzi won the flat MOP against Texas A&M. It was the second MOP of her career in the event, and the ninth overall.
- Bertozzi leads both jumping seat groups with a 1-1 record in the flat and in the fences.
- Bertozzi has recorded the highest score by any Bulldog in both events this season - an 82 in the fences and a 90 in the flat. Both scores were recorded in the season-opener against Texas A&M.
- The jumping seat Bulldogs are coached by first-year assistant coach and Bulldog alumni Sierra Swaffar. Swaffar rode for the Bulldogs from 2014-18.
SCOUTING TCU
- TCU is 4-1 (1-1 Big 12) on the season.
- The Horned Frogs checked in at No. 2 in this week's NCEA team rankings
- TCU has earned seven Top 3 rankings this season.
- TCU has picked up two Top 10 wins on the year - No. 2 Texas A&M and No. 2 Oklahoma State
- TCU was ranked the No. 1 team in the NCEA on Oct. 8, then fell to No. 10 Baylor in its conference opener.
- With a win over TCU on Thursday, Fresno State would defeat its highest-ranked opponent since defeating then-No. 2 TCU on Mar. 5, 2021.
SCOUTING OKLAHOMA STATE
- Oklahoma State is 1-2 (1-1 Big 12) on the season.
- Oklahoma State was the 2021-22 national champion a season ago, finishing the season with a 15-2 overall record.
- This season, the Cowgirls have faced SMU, Baylor and TCU. Their lone win came against Baylor at home.
- Oklahoma State is 1-1 at home this season.
