Fresno State hosts UC Davis in the first home meet of the spring season on Saturday.
FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 8 Fresno State equestrian team hosts unranked UC Davis in its first home meet of the spring season on Saturday at 1 p.m. PT.

UC Davis is the lone opponent on the Bulldogs' schedule that is from California, or even in the same time zone. The 'Dogs travel to Davis, Calif. on Mar. 12 to close out the regular season.

The 'Dogs host back-to-back home meets, first taking on UC Davis this Saturday before welcoming Baylor to Fresno for Senior Day on Mar. 4. Parking and admission are always free of charge at the Student Horse Center.

QUICK LOOK AT THE 'DOGS
- Fresno State hosts its first home meet of the spring season on Saturday.
- Fresno State is 1-4 in its Big 12 meets this season, earning a win against then-No. 6 TCU (Oct. 2).
- Fresno State is 3-7 this season, not including a jumping seat only win against Lynchburg on Oct. 23.
- The Bulldogs are 3-1 in their home meets this season, only suffering a loss to No. 1 Oklahoma State (Nov. 5).
- The Bulldogs ranked No. 8 in this week's NCEA weekly team rankings, for the second week in a row.
- Fresno State was ranked as high as No. 6 this season. The highest ranking in program history for the Bulldogs is No. 4.
- Alex Krebs earned the NCEA Ride of the Week honor with a 78.5 at No. 1 Oklahoma State last Saturday. Her score in the horsemanship was the highest by a Bulldog in the event since 2019, and the third-highest since 2008.
- Krebs won both of her horsemanship points on the road last weekend, against ranked opponents.
- Bailey Alexander is riding a five-meet winning streak in the reining, dating back to her 73-71.5 MOP win against SMU on Nov. 6.
- Emily Maul is riding a three-meet horsemanship winning streak, dating bacl to her 76-69 MOP win against Baylor on Nov. 20. She won both points on the road last weekend, taking down two ranked opponents on their home horses.
- Three Bulldog horsemanship riders marked career-high rides last weekend - Krebs (78.5 at Oklahoma State), Alexis Steele (78.5 at Oklahoma State) and Kameron Thorn (79 at Oklahoma State).
- Ashley Jackson posted a career-best 70.5 against Oklahoma State (Feb. 19) in the reining last time out.
- The Bulldogs had two riders earn Big 12 November Riders of the Month to close out the fall season - Bailey Alexander (reining) and Cecily Hayes (flat). Both riders were the first selected by the conference for honors this season.
- Alexander was also named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Shorty's Reining Rider of the Month for November.
- Head coach Eric Hubbard enters his 10th season at the helm of the Fresno State equestrian program, having served as the program's interim head coach from 2013-15.
- Assistant coaches Mary Brown (western) and Caitlin Marshall (jumping seat) enter their fifth seasons with the 'Dogs.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
- UC Davis is 2-5 this season, while 1-3 in its ECAC meets.
- The Aggies are 0-2 on the road this season.
- The Aggies have picked up wins against South Carolina (Sept. 30, 11-6) and South Dakota State (Nov. 19, 13-6).
- UC Davis has lost three-straight meets. It is 0-2 in the spring with losses to UT-Martin and Oklahoma State on the road.
- The Aggies have had two riders earn Eastern College Athletic Conference Rider of the Week honors, both in the horsemanship.
