Rivers set for NFL Scouting Combine

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State football legacy running back Ronnie Rivers accepted an invitation to the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine last month, and looks toward competing at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. this week in front of scouts from across the NFL. The 2022 combine runs from Mar. 1-7 with a total of 324 prospects set to participate.
Rivers is one of 14 players from around the Mountain West participating at the combine this season - Air Force (1), Boise State (1), Colorado State (1), Fresno State (1), Nevada (3), San Diego State (6), and Wyoming (1).
Tentative Schedule of Events

March 5: DL, LB
March 6: DB

Rivers finished his Bulldog career as Fresno State's all-time leading scorer. Having played five years in a Bulldog uniform, Rivers is the Fresno State record holder in career touchdowns scored (52), rushing touchdowns (40), receiving touchdowns by a running back (12), receiving yards by a running back (1,417) and pass receptions by a running back (150). He left as second in program history in rushing attempts (672), third in career rushing yards (3,417), and fourth in career all-purpose yards (5,208).
Rivers is the sixth Bulldog in the last three seasons to earn an invitation to the NFL scouting combine. Mykal Walker and Netane Muti were the last to be invited, participating in 2020. Both Muti (Denver Broncos) and Walker (Atlanta Falcons) were drafted in that year's NFL Draft and have seen game action on Sundays with their organizations.
Since 2011, Rivers is the 20th Bulldog to earn an invitation to the event but just the second running back in that time. He is the first Bulldog RB to receive an invitation since Robbie Rouse in 2013.

The United States Football League (USFL), a new professional-level football league held its first-ever draft on Feb. 22-23, 2022. Former Bulldog wide receiver Delvon Hardaway (2013-18) was selected as the fifth pick in the 16th round to the Pittsburgh Maulers.
