Fresno State secures 4-0 win over the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds with ninth straight home victory to end nonconference play.

FRESNO, Calif. -- The No. 65-ranked Fresno State women's tennis team closed out nonconference play with a 4-0 shutout win over Fresno Pacific on Friday afternoon at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.

Fresno State (10-3) remains undefeated at home with nine straight home victories in Fresno dating back to February 2021.

How it happened: The 'Dogs snagged the doubles point after A.C. Hummel and Jane Ellis overtook Fresno Pacific's No. 3 duo. The Bulldogs then looked to Carolina Piferi and Ella Husrefovic, who secured a 6-3 win in the No. 2 doubles spot for Fresno State on top going into singles matches.

Fresno State won three singles matches to claim a 4-0 win over the Sunbirds.

Jane Ellis battled to earn the clinching point at No. 6 singles for the Bulldogs.

NEXT UP: Fresno State will open conference play at home against Wyoming on Saturday, March 26 at 1 p.m. PT.
