No. 68 Bulldogs win MW opener, 4-2

Fresno State delivered another strong effort in its conference-opening win over Wyoming.
FRESNO, Calif. – The No. 68-ranked Fresno State women's tennis team defeated the Wyoming Cowgirls 4-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
Fresno State (11-3, 1-0 Mountain West) earned victories at No. 1, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to win its 10th straight home match and improve to 8-1 in conference openers since joining the MW in 2012.
How it happened: The Bulldogs dropped the doubles point after Carlotta Nonnis Marzano and Carolina Piferi battled through a 7-4 tiebreak.
Fresno State won four singles matches to secure the 4-2 win over Wyoming.
Carolina Piferi picked up the clinching point for the 'Dogs after coming back from a loss in the first set at No. 6 singles.
NEXT UP: Fresno State will continue through the match weekend by taking on the Colorado State Rams at home on Sunday, March 27 at 1 p.m. PT.
