'Dogs edged by Aztecs in Game 2

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State softball team fell in another close game 5-4 to the San Diego State on Saturday afternoon in Margie Wright Diamond.
Fresno State tallied six hits in the contest with six different Bulldogs recording a hit. Fresno State had three different pitchers see time in the circle, tallying a combined four strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SDSU jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the in the first inning off two hits and two drawn walks. Fresno State responded in the bottom of the inning. The Bulldogs drew back-to-back walks, and Kacey Hvitved belted a triple to the wall to send both runners home, tying the game 2-2. Bailey Williams plated the go-ahead run with a double.
Both teams were held scoreless for the next three innings.
The Aztecs put up three runs on five hits in the top of the fourth to take a 5-3 lead. In the bottom of the frame, Alesia Denby hit her fourth home run of the season to make it a one-score game.
The Bulldogs had two runners on in the bottom of the seventh but were unable to take the win.

Fresno State and SDSU will finish the series tomorrow at Noon PT.
