'Dogs fall in game two

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Fresno State softball team fell 6-5 in game two of the series against New Mexico Lobos on Friday afternoon at the Lobo Softball Field, which evened the series.
Fresno State outhit New Mexico 11-7. Avery Lawley went 3-for-4 at the plate for the 'Dogs. Alesia Denby and Mackenna Steele recorded two hits apiece. Denby led the team with three RBIs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
New Mexico took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the second with a three-run home run. The Lobos extended their lead in the next inning with one run on two hits.
Fresno State drew a leadoff walk in the fourth and Denby followed with two-run home run to make it a one-run game.
The Lobos belted a solo shot to go up 5-2 after four innings. The Bulldogs tied the game with three runs on three hits.
New Mexico plated the winning run in the sixth.

Fresno State and New Mexico will finish the series at 10 a.m. PT.
