'Dogs clinch series against the Rams

FRESNO, Calif. --Â The Fresno State softball team secured the series win with a 4-3 victory over Colorado State on Saturday afternoon at Margie Wright Diamond.
Fresno State had six players chalk a hit in the contest. Alesia Denby led the Bulldogs at the plate for the second game in a row, going 2-for-3.
The Bulldogs saw three pitchers in the circle. Marley Hanlon recorded her fourth win of the season. Cassidy West closed out the game for the 'Dogs to chalk her second save.
HOW IT HAPPENED
CSU plated two runs through the first two innings to take a quick lead over Fresno State.
The 'Dogs took the lead in the bottom of the fourth after plating three runs on three hits. Denby hit a leadoff single through the left side and then stole second. Bailey Williams singled to left field, and a throwing error allowed Denby to cross home plate. The next batter walked, and Avery Lawley plated two runs with a single up the middle.
Fresno State put an insurance run up in the bottom of the fifth to take a 4-2 lead into the final inning.
The Rams showed fight by sending off a leadoff solo shot over the left-field wall to make it a one-run game. The 'Dogs retired the next three batters to secure the win.

Fresno State and Colorado State will play the season finale at 11 a.m. tomorrow.
