Denby earns MW POTW honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State infielder Alesia Denby was named the Mountain West Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday morning.Â
The Murrieta, Calif. native led the Bulldogs to 4-0 week, defeating Cal Poly in a midweek game and completing a series sweep over Colorado State. The sweep over the Rams was the first MW series sweep of the season for the Bulldogs.Â
Denby logged a .615 (8-for-13) batting average on the week with a team-high five RBIs. She belted three doubles and one home run for a 1.077 slugging percentage. The junior had a .643 on-base percentage for the Bulldogs, and recorded a multi-hit effort in three games. She started all four games at shortstop for Fresno State.Â
This is Denby's first weekly award of the season and second of her career.Â
