Fresno State junior Pang Jittakoat was also honored as ITA x Universal Tennis Division I Player of the Week on April 7 for helping the Bulldogs to wins over UNLV and then-No. 66 San Diego State with a perfect 4-0 record at No. 1 doubles and singles. Â The dominant performance boosted Jittakoat's UTR rating into double digits at 10.08 (up 0.17 from the previous week).
The ITA x Universal Tennis Player of the Week award is entering its third year of being awarded. The ITA x Universal Tennis Player of the Week awards program honors male and female individuals from all five divisions (NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, and Junior College) with weekly awards during the spring dual-match season.

- Fresno State Athletics is celebrating its centennial year and the 2022 women's tennis season is the 44th season in program history (inaugural season 1978-79).
- Fresno State head coach Denise Dy is now in her second season back home in the Golden State.
- The Bulldogs were ranked No. 65 in the latest ITA Collegiate Tennis Division I Women's Team Rankings, which were released on April 27, 2022 - one of two MW teams (San Diego State) ranked in the ITA's Top 75.
- No. 65 Fresno State opens the 2022 MW Championships as the No. 1 seed.
- The top-seeded Bulldogs will face No. 8 seed Nevada in the quarterfinals on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. PT.
- No. 65 Fresno State enters the tournament having won its last 12 matches and 13 of its last 14 overall.
- With a 20-3 overall record, this was Fresno State's 11th 20-win in program history and first since 2009.
- Denise Dy is the third head coach in program history to win 20 matches in one of her first two seasons.
- Fresno State's Pang Jittakoat was named the 2022 Mountain West Player of the Year.
- 15th conference player of the year award won by a Bulldog in program history (fourth in last seven years)
- Jittakoat, along with Matilde Magrini, were named to the All-MW Singles and Doubles Teams.
- Denise Dy is also just the second head coach in program history to coach a Bulldog to conference player of the year honors in each of their first two seasons at Fresno State.
- Fresno State won the 2022 MW regular season championship with an undefeated 10-0 record in MW play.
- This is Fresno State's third Mountain West championship in women's tennis and first since 2018. Â The first two (2014 & 2018) were tournament championships won when the Bulldogs were coached by Ryan Stotland, who is now the head coach at Arizona, where Denise Dy worked as Stotland's assistant coach from 2018-20 prior to being hired as Fresno State's head coach a month before the 2021 season.
- Fresno State is seeking its third MW tournament championship (2014 & 2018).
- Fresno State is the No. 1 seed for the fourth time in program history (2014, 2015 & 2016).
- This is the seventh time in now eight appearances that the Bulldogs will be a top three seed.
- Fresno State is 9-5 all-time in MW women's tennis tournament contests.
- Fresno State's Pang Jittakoat enters the tournament 17-3 in singles matches this season (15-3 at No. 1 singles) and owns an 11-match singles winning streak (all 11 in straight sets at the top position).
- Fresno State's Carolina Piferi enters on a 14-match singles winning streak with a 16-1 record in singles (12-0 at No. 6 singles) and was 8-0 in MW play. Â Piferi also played up at No. 4 singles (1-0) and No. 5 singles (3-1).
- Fresno State's Cristina Flaquer enters 15-5 in singles matches this season (10-4 at No. 3 singles).
- Fresno State's Carlotta Nonnis Marzano enters 11-4 in singles matches this season.
- Fresno State's A.C. Hummel enters 9-4 in singles matches this season (5-0: No. 4 in MW play) and owns a five-match singles winning streak. Â Hummel was previously a 2020 All-MW singles honoree.
- Fresno State's Matilde Magrini enters 10-8 at No. 2 singles this season.
- In singles, Fresno State's rotation is a combined 82-26 (.759) overall with more wins than losses at each slot.
- For the tenth consecutive week, the Fresno State women's tennis team is ranked nationally (No. 65) in the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point, the organization announced on April 27.
- Fresno State has been ranked as high as No. 51 nationally in 2022.
- Fresno State has a ranked win over then-No. 66 San Diego State (April 9, 2022).
- While winning 20 matches in 2022, Fresno State overcame losing the doubles point seven times during the 2022 regular season (won the doubles point in 13 of its 23 matches, including five of 10 MW contests).
- As a team, Fresno State is 33-27 overall and 14-12 in MW play in doubles (16-6 overall at No. 1 doubles).
- In doubles, Pang Jittakoat is 15-6 overall this season (14-5 at No. 1 doubles), while Matilde Magrini has 14 victories. Â When playing together at No. 1 doubles, Jittakoat and Magrini are 10-3 overall (7-3 in MW play).
- The Bulldogs enter a combined perfect 18-0 at No. 6 singles in 2022.
- During the 2022 regular season, Fresno State recorded a conference-best 9-3 road record.
- Fresno State's nine road victories are six more than the Bulldogs had in 2021.
- The Bulldogs were also 8-0 in home contests and 3-0 in neutral site matches.
- During the 2022 spring season, Fresno State earned a total of seven Mountain West individual weekly awards, including three MW Player of the Week honors and a conference-best four MW Freshman of the Week awards.
- Pang Jittakoat was named the MW Player of the Week league-best three times (Feb. 23, April 6 & April 25).
- Carlotta Nonnis Marzano earned the conference's top weekly recognition on April 20.
- Matilde Magrini earned MW Freshman of the Week honors a conference-best five times during the season (Feb. 2, Feb. 16, April 13, April 20 and April 25).
