’Dogs rise to No. 60 in ITA Top 75

Fresno State is ranked No. 60 in this week’s Women's ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point.
TEMPE, Ariz. – For the seventh consecutive week, the Fresno State women's tennis team is ranked nationally in the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Fresno State (14-3, 4-0 Mountain West) checked in at No. 60 this week in the rankings of Division I women's tennis teams – up 11 spots from last week's No. 71 slot, which represents the program's biggest one-week jump this season. Fresno State has been ranked as high as No. 51 nationally in 2022.
The No. 60-ranked Bulldogs, who are in sole possession of first place in the conference standings after sweeping UNLV and then-No. 66 San Diego State last weekend, travel to Northern California to face defending MW champion San Jose State and Nevada in San Jose on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Both matches start at 12 p.m. PT.
Fresno State enters this weekend on a six-match winning streak and 2-0 this season against regionally ranked opponents in the ITA's Northwest Region. SJSU was ranked No. 6 in the latest available regional rankings.
Fresno State head coach Denise Dy is in her second season back home in California leading the Bulldogs' program and has led the 'Dogs to a 29-8 record in her tenure, which includes a 12-2 mark in MW contests.
