Fresno State Athletics is celebrating its centennial year and the 2022 women's tennis season is the 44th season in program history (inaugural season 1978-79).
Fresno State head coach Denise Dy is now in her second season back home in the Golden State.
The Bulldogs were ranked No. 60 in the latest ITA Collegiate Tennis Division I Women's Team Rankings, which were released on April 6, 2022 - one of two MW teams (SDSU) ranked in the ITA's Top 75.

OPENING SERVE

No. 60 Fresno State continues Mountain West play by visiting defending MW champion San Jose State on Friday and Nevada on Saturday. Both matches will be played in San Jose, Calif., and start at 12 p.m. PT.
No. 60 Fresno State enters the weekend having won its last six matches and seven of its last eight overall.
Fresno State enters Friday match with a 7-1 record all-time in its MW road openers and seeking to snap a three-match losing streak in its all-time series with SJSU.
Fresno State's Pang Jittakoat has been named the MW Player of the Week twice (Feb. 23 & April 6).
In 2021, Fresno State went 15-5 overall with an 8-2 record in Mountain West play, which tied for the most overall and conference victories by any MW team in 2021.

SEVENTH STRAIGHT WEEK RANKED

For the seventh consecutive week, the Fresno State women's tennis team is ranked nationally (No. 60) in the ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Fresno State has been ranked as high as No. 51 nationally, and has a 2-0 record this season against regionally ranked opponents in the ITA's Northwest Region (No. 8 San Francisco & No. 9 Saint Mary's College).
The Bulldogs were ranked No. 10 in the latest available ITA Northwest Region rankings.

TRENDING UP IN SINGLES AND DOUBLES

Fresno State's Pang Jittakoat enters the weekend 14-3 in singles matches this season (12-3 at No. 1 singles) and owning an eight-match singles winning streak (all eight in straight sets at the top position).
Fresno State's Carolina Piferi enters the weekend on a 10-match singles winning streak with a 12-1 record in singles (9-0 at No. 6 singles). Piferi has also played up at No. 4 singles (1-0) and No. 5 singles (2-1).
Fresno State's Cristina Flaquer enters the weekend 10-4 in singles matches this season (5-3 at No. 3 singles).
Fresno State's Carlotta Nonnis Marzano enters the weekend 8-4 in singles matches this season.

In doubles, Jittakoat is 11-4 overall this season (10-3 at No. 1 doubles), while Matilde Magrini has 10 doubles victories, including at six at No. 1.
As a team, Fresno State is 26-18 in doubles (12-4 at the No. 1 doubles slot).
Fresno State has earned the doubles point in 11 of its 17 matches this season.
