Even before its latest signee, Fresno State earned high marks for its 2022 women’s tennis recruiting class.
FRESNO, Calif. – After winning the outright 2022 Mountain West regular season championship this spring, the Fresno State women's tennis team is reloading with a Top 15 recruiting class for 2022 – even before the addition of its latest signee.
Fresno State, who has gone 35-9 in head coach Denise Dy's first two seasons coaching the Bulldogs, were ranked 14th in the Tennis Recruiting Network Top 25 Women's Mid-Major Recruiting Classes (through May 23).
The mid-major rankings in tennis include all colleges in all divisions except for those in the five so-called "power" conferences in college football - the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, PAC-12, and SEC - as well as the Ivy League, and were tabulated by factoring in TRN, ITF, WTT and UTR rankings or ratings, along with input from college tennis coaches and do not consider incoming transfer students or players who competed for college teams in 2021-22.
The three additions, who were recruited to Fresno State by Dy and assistant coach Calvin Song, help solidify the Bulldogs' lineup with the option to add another player before the start of the 2022 season.
