The expansion of the Bulldog Sports Network will cover multiple sports, seasons with live, local broadcasts through a partnership between CW59 and Fresno State Athletics
FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State Athletics games and matches are coming to local television this coming season. In partnership with CW59, select athletics events across the fall, winter, and spring seasons will be broadcast live on local television as part of an expansion of the Bulldog Sports Network.
"Local television is a powerful medium to build the next generation of Bulldog fans," said Zachary Fraser, general manager of Bulldog Sports Properties, the local team that leads multimedia and broadcast opportunities for Fresno State Athletics. "The continued expansion of the Bulldog Sports Network allows us to be paired with the media leaders in the Central Valley and allows our partners and fans to connect in ways that work best for each other."
Broadcast schedules are being finalized and will include select soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, softball, baseball and water polo match-ups. In addition to these contests being available on CW59 via cable, satellite, and OTA platforms, these broadcasts will continue to be available over the Mountain West Network and through the MW and Go Bulldogs official apps.
An important feature of this expansion of the Bulldog Sports Network is the inclusion of sports played by talented female student-athletes (soccer, volleyball, women's basketball, softball and water polo).
"KMPH FOX26 and KFRE CW59 are proud to be the Central Valley's leader in local Sports," said Matt Morse, station general manager. "Adding the Fresno State brand to our television stations secures our commitment to provide live local content to our Valley Viewers. As a #Girldad, I am excited to showcase and introduce the many talented Bulldog Female student-athletes to our viewers."
"I envision daughters like my own developing a fandom for the 'Dogs through these broadcasts," Fraser added. "And where my daughters are connected and supported, so is my household. Our athletic department will be building the next generation of the Red Wave, and that next generation includes a ton of talented young women."
The Bulldog Sports Network includes pole-to-pole coverage of Bulldog Athletics on radio through iHeartMedia, primetime television coverage every Sunday through ABC30, and now live broadcasts on television through CW59.
