Â
"We are honored to celebrate Davante Adams with this truly deserving tribute," said Fresno State Director of Athletics Terry Tumey. "Davante is one of, if not the most, dynamic playmakers we've ever had in our proud and historic football program. His accomplishments here at Fresno State, in addition to his on-going remarkable professional career, are truly commendable, but who he is as a person will continue to positively impact Fresno State for generations to come. We are excited to welcome Davante and his family back to Fresno State and his #15 jersey will be displayed proudly forever inside Valley Children's Stadium."
Â
Adams, who was a Bulldogs wide receiver from 2012-13, left Fresno State as the all-time leader for most receiving yards in a single season, recording 1,718 yards receiving in 2013.
Â
Adams set a new school record with 233 career receptions, averaging 9.0 receptions and 116.5 receiving yards per game in his career. In just two seasons of play with the Bulldogs, Adams set 14 new Mountain West records and 11 Fresno State records - one of them being a record-breaking 38 career touchdown catches.
Â
Adams is fourth all-time with 3,030 receiving yards in his Bulldog career (2012-13).
Â
As a Bulldog, Adams was a two-time first team All-Mountain West wide receiver, while earning All-American honors both years. He was the 2012 Mountain West Freshman of the Year, and the winner of the 2013 Paul Warfield Award. Following his Bulldog career, Adams was the Green Bay Packers' second-round draft pick (53rd overall) in 2014. Since playing at the professional level, Adams has been named a five-time Pro Bowler (2017-21) and two-time Associated Press All-Pro First Team selection (2020-21). He appeared in 116 games with 109 starts, recording 669 receptions for 8,121 yards with 73 touchdowns, helping lead Green Bay to six postseason appearances.
Â
In 11 career postseason games with the Packers, Adams posted 72 catches for 910 yards with eight touchdowns. Adams left Green Bay as one of the top wide receivers in franchise history, ranking second in receptions, fourth in receiving yards and second in receiving touchdowns.
Â
In 2021, Adams set a franchise single-season record with both 123 receptions and 1,553 receiving yards, adding 11 receiving touchdowns. Adams holds the Packers' top-two single-season performances by a receiver, tallying 123 receptions in 2021 and 115 in 2020. Additionally, his 18 receiving touchdowns in 2020 tied for the first in franchise history.
Â
In March of 2022, Adams was reunited with college quarterback Derek Carr when Green Bay traded Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a first and second round pick in the 2022 NFL draft.
Â
Adams' jersey retirement celebration will take place during halftime of the Oct. 15 contest. To help fans celebrate the event, a special $15 ticket deal will be in effect for a limited time only. Tickets are on sale now (Click Here).
