Jittakoat & Magrini reach Battle in the Bay quarters

SAN FRANCISCO — Fresno State's Pang Jittakoat and Matilde Magrini opened their action-packed 2022 fall series of tournaments with a strong showing at the Battle in the Bay Classic in San Francisco.

Jittakoat and Magrini defeated Arizona State's duo of Argyrokastriti & Gallagher on the opening day in doubles to advance to the quarterfinals before falling to Pepperdine's top-seeded pair on day two.

Both also gained valuable experience in singles against tough competition, while they added a pair of exhibition doubles victories later in the weekend.

The opening performance helped strengthen their resumes, which have now earned a doubles main draw spot in the upcoming ITA All-American Championships.
