COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fresno State women's basketball's Taija Sta. Maria has been tabbed as the Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday morning.Â

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Guard, Vaughan, Ontario, Canada/Crestwood Preparatory College
- Led the Bulldogs in scoring over the course of the two contests, losses to Cal State Fullerton (68-77) and Cal Poly (59-84).
- Averaged 17 points per game, shooting 52.4 percent from the field (11-for-21) and 91.7 percent from the charity stripe (11-for-12).
- Against Cal State Fullerton, logged 18 points, six assists and three rebounds.
- At Cal Poly, registered 16 points, four rebounds and one assist.
- This is Sta. Maria's second MW Freshman of the Week Honor, Sta. Maria was the first freshman to receive the honor this season (Nov. 13)Â
- This is the first time in program history that a freshman has been tabbed with multiple MW honors in the same season
