Bulldogs top Athenas, 16-7

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State water polo completed an unbeaten run at the Fresno State Invite on Sunday afternoon defeating Claremont Mudd-Scripps, 16-7 to finish 3-0 at the two-day tournament hosted at the Aquatics Center.
Fresno State (7-7) was led in scoring by four goals apiece from Brooke Ochoa and Jillian Schultz.
Hailey Andress tacked on three goals, Elisa Grim added a pair and Cynthia Rosa, Daphne Guevremont and Aryanah Tellez chipped in one apiece.
In goal, Paula Nieto Jasny got the win making three saves before Abigayle Armstrong and Kelly Villanueva each worked nearly a quarter of play with each making three saves apiece as well.
How It Happened
Getting two goals from Schultz and one from Guevremont in the first quarter, the 'Dogs led 3-0 after the opening quarter.
A seven-goal second quarter extended the 'Dogs lead to 10-3 getting scores from four different Bulldogs.
Adding three more goals in the third, including two from Andress, the Bulldogs led 13-4 through three quarters.
Each side added three goals apiece in the fourth quarter to give the 'Dogs a nine-goal margin of victory.
