Back-to-Back! Jittakoat again earns top MW honor

LAS VEGAS – Fresno State's Pang Jittakoat was named the 2023 Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Year, the conference office announced on Tuesday at an awards ceremony before the 2023 MW Championships.
In addition to earning the MW's top honor this season, Jittakoat was named to the 2023 All-MW Singles and Doubles Teams.
This is the 16th time in program history that Fresno State has had a Bulldog earn conference player of the year honors (fifth in Fresno State's first 10 seasons in the Mountain West – all five coming in the last eight seasons).
Denise Dy is just the second head coach in program history to coach a Bulldog to conference player of the year honors in each of their first three seasons as head coach at Fresno State.

Fresno State senior Cristina Flaquer was also named an All-MW Singles Team Member and sophomore Matilde Magrini earned All-MW Doubles Team honors for the second straight season.

Pang Jittakoat: 2023 MW Player of the Year, All-MW Singles & All-MW Doubles Teams
- Pang Jittakoat has been named the back-to-back Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Year to become the fourth women's tennis player in the Mountain West history to receive player of the year honors in consecutive seasons (2022 & 2023).
- Jittakoat was named the MW Player of the Week league-best four times this season (seven career), including three consecutive weeks (Feb. 8, Feb. 15 and Feb. 22), and on March 29, 2023.
- Fresno State's Pang Jittakoat enters the MW Tournament with a 17-1 record in singles matches this season (17-1 at No. 1 singles, including a perfect 8-0 in MW action) and owns a 17-match singles winning streak.
- In doubles, Pang Jittakoat is 9-6 overall this season (8-5 at No. 1 doubles).
- Jittakoat and teammate Matilde Magrini rank No. 50 nationally in the ITA's Top 90 doubles teams (8-2 record when playing together in 2023).
- Last season, Jittakoat was also honored as ITA x Universal Tennis Division I Player of the Week on April 7, 2022 for helping the Bulldogs to wins over UNLV and then-No. 66 San Diego State with a perfect 4-0 record at No. 1 doubles and singles that weekend.
Matilde Magrini: 2023 All-MW Doubles Team
- Matilde Magrini earned All-MW Doubles Team honors in each of her first two seasons at Fresno State.
- Magrini and teammate Pang Jittakoat rank No. 50 nationally in the ITA's Top 90 doubles teams (8-2 record when playing together in 2023).
- Magrini is 8-3 when playing at No. 1 doubles this season (3-1 in MW play).
Cristina Flaquer: 2023 All-MW Singles Team
- Fresno State senior Cristina Flaquer earned All-MW Singles Team honors for the first time in her Bulldog career.
- Flaquer was 7-5 when playing at No. 3 singles this season.
- In MW play, Flaquer was 5-4 in singles.
- Throughout the season, Flaquer played at the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 singles positions for Fresno State.
